Oh for One

"From the editors of Anderbo:
Sorry to say, we will not be using this submitted work, and do wish you the best of luck with it elsewhere.
(Anderbo.com is able to use less than 1% of what comes in; most submissions receive a response within 12 to 36 hours.)"

Well, that was quick. But as the fine editors at Anderbo.com state, "within 12 to 36 hours." And boy are they not kidding. I submitted my work at 7:42 p.m. last night, received the above rejection at 8:46 this morning. At least it wasn't the extreme far end of the spectrum at twelve hours. They gave me thirteen. Nice. My guess, and I'm quite near certain, that the piece was not read. No tears. Got two more to go, still waiting on responses from thepedestalmagazine.com and failbetter.com, which, with any luck, won't rejectfully ping back at the same page-ripping speed or, with more luck, won't take too long or, with infinite luck, fall into an abyss.

  1. Best quote from this article (http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009/03/09/090309fa_fact_max?currentPage=all):

“The very last thing this book is is some kind of clever metafictional titty-pincher.”
